The Poughkeepsie Journal is an American daily newspaper based in the Poughkeepsie, New York. It is said to be the 3rd oldest newspaper in the country and is considered as the older one in the state of New York.

History –

This Poughkeepsie Journal newspaper started more than 200 years ago in the year 1785 as non-daily newspaper. It has changed its name many times during its journey and finally it was called with the present name. The headquarters is based in Poughkeepsie and the building is listen on National Register of Historic places.

In the year 1977, Gannett Company owned this newspaper and is running successfully. Barry Rothfeld is the publisher of the newspaper whereas Stu Shinske is serving as the present editor of the Poughkeepsie Journal.
